Beth graduates from Nottingham Trent University this June. She is studying for a BA (Hons) in Fine Art.

“Most of my current work is made by staining paper with paint, then carefully fixing this paper to board and painting over it using a range of artist's and household paints."
"My practice explores the physicality of the materials I use and the way they act and contrast one another. The variations in the nature of the materials and their application interrogate surface and depth."
"I aim to exploit and value the beauty of the mark. Gestural marks which convey energy, spontaneity and chance are characteristic of my work. Through an intuitive process of judgement and adjustments, I add elements of control, thereby creating aware and considered paintings."
"I am interested in an artist's ability to know and apply rules, use colours and proportion, contrast and composition, but more fascinatingly, how one can break these rules, and through experimentation and instinct, create something beautiful."
