11/08/08 - Support Team Mozzo and the c2cFund™ at the Shoreditch Grand Prix…

Our friends at UnLtd in partnership with Thin Martian have dreamed up a scenario where 30 social enterprises race each other using kids pedal bikes around the streets of Shoreditch, London, in what will be known as the Shoreditch Grand Prix.

Team Mozzo needs your support!!! On race day, Sunday August 31st, the Mozzo Cart will be serving coffees to supporters and racers alike, whilst Team Mozzo will be going head to head against the rest of the field, racing to raise money for the Community2Community Fund™. 

As a charity the Community2Community Fund™ will receive a direct contribution from every bag and case of magic Mozzo Coffee sold. This money will be used to further support the Mozzo Coffee farming communities in Colombia and emerging artistic talent here in the UK. 11/08/08 - Realising a dream… the Community2Community Fund™

Whilst building his cart Mozzoman (aka Grant Lang) had a dream… to go beyond Fairtrade and make every bean, bag and case of Mozzo Coffee sold contribute directly to the coffee farmers of Colombia and emerging artists of the UK. On Friday August 8th Mozzoman took a step closer to realising the dream by pressing go with the experts in charity law Bates Wells & Braithwaite LLP to set up the Community2Community Fund™. Stay tuned and we will tell you more as our Mozzo adventure continues and our fund swings into action playing a small but growing part in changing the world bean by bean…  

 

11/08/08 - Acorn House adopts the Mozzo magic…

Award winning eco-restaurant Acorn House is now serving Mozzo Coffee. Founded by Arthur Potts and Jamie Smith, Acorn House is different… we mean different!!! This restaurant and the people behind it are on a mission… a mission to change our understanding and attitude to restaurants. Whether it be as an eating customer or member of the Acorn team this place is different and a must visit when in London!

02/06/08 - And the lucky winners are...

The deadlines for both the Bean Bulletin competition and the Riverside Studios e-flyer competition have now passed and we are proud to announce that we have 2 lucky winners.

The magic Mozzo beans are of course from Colombia which I think all of you got right, so well done.

The two lucky winners were:

Their Mozzo home espresso kit prizes are on their way so they’ll be enjoying the magic Mozzo beans at home pretty soon.

Just to let you know...  for both competitions, we wrote down all the names of those that entered, cut the names out, folded them up and put them in a hat. We then picked a name out for each of competition, (separate hats for each competition).

 

16/05/08 - I did run run...

On Sunday 13th April I had the minor challenge of running the London Marathon to negotiate. Well... I ran the full 26.2 miles and completed it in 3hours, 37 minutes and 21 seconds raising £1020.20 for the Cancer Buddies Network in the process.

08/04/08 - You do run run run...

Well I do! In between deliveries, sales visits and drinking coffee, I’ve been training up for the London marathon.

That’s right... on Sunday 13th April 2008 I’ll be gracing the streets of London in the hope of raising as many beans (money) as possible for the Cancer Buddies Network.

08/04/08 - Cup a load of this...

Earlier on this year we launched our Mozzo bio-degradable cups.

Unlike your regular takeaway cups, ours are lined with bio-plastics made from plant extracts, meaning that even if you don’t throw them away, they will (eventually) throw themselves away. Over 20,000 of them have been used so far so definitely a step in the right direction!

 

08/04/08 - Rock the boat baby...

On Saturday 29th March, Antosh and  Stretch (with a couple of little helpers) were down at Riverside Studios in Hammersmith for a bit of Mozzo sampling during the Boat Race.

Although it was a slow and wet start, once they moved the operation inside, away from the pouring rain and gale force winds, things really picked up and the boys went on to finish strongly serving up over 300 coffees!

 

08/04/08 - Rise of the machines...

No don’t worry, I’m not talking about Terminators, I’m talking about La Spaziale Espresso machines.

Last month I had the pleasure of visiting their wonderful factory in Bologna, Italy and got to witness firsthand how all of these remarkable machines are made from start to finish by just one person!

 

19/01/08 - Mozzo Coffee Cart to appear at Fairtrade Fairground, February 24th London…

The nice people at the Fairtrade Foundation have invited us to bring our little cart and magic Mozzo beans to the Fairtrade Fairground event taking place at the South Bank, London on February Sunday 24th to celebrate the launch of Fairtrade Fortnight 2008.

Our cart will be in the mix with many other wonderful and colourful Fairtrade producers and products all waiting for you to pop on down and explore... so come on down and meet our cart and all the Mozzo team and grab a free coffee!

14/01/08 - Team Mozzo on the up…

Standing at 6.7ft Stretch certainly wins the height competition here at Mozzo World. After returning from a 6 month honeymoon spent wandering the cafes of the Australasia we are bubbling with excitement to be able to welcome Tom Harvey aka Stretch into team Mozzo.

Back in the day Stretch was our first customer as GM of Mono Bar in Southampton and showed an interest in coffee and Mozzo from day 1. Having stayed in touch whilst on his travels Stretch is back and ready to help add a new and exciting twist to the world of the magic Mozzo beans… watch this space you can miss him when you see him!

 

05/11/07 - Mozzoman at the top… in the inaugural Esquire Awards

Seeing is required to believe sometimes and so it was when Grant Lang aka Mozzoman and founder of Mozzo was told he had been voted as 1 of 5 finalists in the Esquire Man at the Top Awards 2007 in the Young Entrepreneur of the Year category.

A trip to the gorgeous Haymarket Hotel in London for the awards evening on the 5th November followed with Mozzoman being by far the youngest contender among a list of the who’s who of British Business. Distinguished winners on the night included a who’s who of British business… Sir Stuart Rose of Marks & Spencer (Most Influential Business Thinker winner; Tamara Mellon of Jimmy Choo (Best Business Woman winner) and Sir Terence Conran (Lifetime Achievement Award winner).

Alas victory escaped our grasp on the evening with the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award being won by Charlie Osmond (30 yrs) of FreshMinds… our congratulations go to Charlie and his team however do watch out as Mozzoman is only 25 yrs and has his eyes set on achieving the top prize over the next 5 years!
